Mariam is a third year political economy PhD student at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She is interested in comparative politics and international political economy, with a focus on Eastern Europe and post-Soviet countries. Her interests include political participation in non-full democracies, the economic, political, and social integration of internally displaced people, and political consumerism. Prior to her doctoral studies, she got her bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester, where she did a triple major in political science, mathematics and economics and a minor in German.
