Judith Spirig is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Zurich’s Department of Political Science. She has a BA in philosophy and business and economics from the University of Basel and an MSc in international development and humanitarian emergencies from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
After research stays at the LSE’s government department (2015/2016) and Stanford University’s political science department and Immigration Policy Lab (2016/2017), she received her PhD from the University of Zurich for her dissertation on the influence of extralegal factors on asylum appeal decisions in spring 2018. Her main research interests include asylum and refugee issues, as well as discrimination against and attitudes toward out-groups.
