About

Christopher Blair is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Politics at Princeton University. He earned his Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.A. with Highest Distinction in Foreign Affairs and History from the University of Virginia. His research interests lie at the intersection of international relations and comparative politics, with a particular emphasis on the political economy of conflict, migration, and climate change.

Blair’s work delves into how counterinsurgency policies influence the behaviors of rebels and civilians, and how communities respond to forcibly displaced persons and those displaced by climate change. Additionally, he examines public opinion on foreign policy issues. He uses an array of quantitative and qualitative tools, including design-based causal inference, original and archival data collection, and qualitative interviews. His research concentrates on the Global South, namely the Middle East and Africa.
