About

Andreas Steinmayr is a professor of empirical economics at the University of Innsbruck. Andreas received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of St. Gallen in 2014. Before joining the University of Innsbruck, he spent two years at the Harris School of Public Policy Studies at the University of Chicago and was an assistant professor at LMU Munich. He studies the consequences of migration both in migrant-sending and migrant-receiving countries. He also analyzes policies to improve the well-being of labor migrants using large-scale field experiments. He has a strong focus on causal inference and econometric methods.
