Assistant Professor of Economics
Andreas Steinmayr is an assistant professor at the Department of Economics at LMU Munich. Andreas received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of St. Gallen in 2014. Before joining LMU, he spent two years at the Harris School of Public Policy Studies at the University of Chicago. Andreas has been elected a member of the Young Academy of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences. He studies the consequences of migration both in migrant-sending and receiving countries. He also analyzes policies to improve the well-being of labor migrants using large-scale field experiments. He has a strong focus on causal inference and econometric methods.
