Scott Williamson is a political scientist focused on the politics of the Middle East. His research addresses the persistence of authoritarian regimes, popular support for democracy and human rights, and attitudes toward refugees and immigrants. Scott’s work has been published or accepted by academic journals including Comparative Political Studies, the Journal of Peace Research, and the Journal of Experimental Political Science, as well as by outlets such as the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and the Washington Post. Scott received his PhD from Stanford University and his BA from Indiana University, and he was formerly a CASA fellow at the American University in Cairo.
