About
In collaboration with the faculty co-directors, Philip shapes, oversees and coordinates the vision and impact strategy of IPL’s ETH Zurich branch. He is in charge of the overall governance and management of the ETH Zurich Lab, its funding and external relations. With a scientific background in natural and social sciences, he also takes an active role in IPL’s trans-disciplinary research.
Experience
Philip holds a diploma in physics, a PhD in mathematical physics, a Swiss High School Teaching Diploma, and a CAS in public governance and administration from ETH Zurich. He started his professional career as a postdoc at McGill University’s Department of Mathematics and Statistics before gathering private sector experience at a Swiss technology and management consultancy. Prior to joining IPL, he worked as a senior researcher and lecturer at the Chair of Negotiation and Conflict Management at ETH Zurich. In disseminating and communicating IPL’s research findings, Philip draws from his teaching experience for diverse audiences and a variety of course formats across social sciences, natural sciences, mathematics, and dance.
