As the daughter of North Vietnamese refugees, Elizabeth recalls first-hand recollections of generational trauma to reinforce her passion for equipping refugees and immigrants with healthier tools to heal and evolve. After spending a year at Long Beach City College, she transferred to Howard University, where she graduated summa cum laude with a BA in political science and history. Thereafter, she earned a MA in security policy (concentration: conflict resolution) and a graduate certificate in government & nonprofit accounting at the George Washington University on a fellowship funded by the U.S. State Department.

Elizabeth has interned in numerous capacities on Capitol Hill and conducted research in Latin America and the Caribbean, and she volunteers regularly in youth development. She is an aunt to more than 20 nieces and nephews and loves island traveling, carpentering, and eating raw oysters and good steak.
